Welcome To The Age Of Face Yoga

Heard about Face Yoga?

If you like me are interested in everything that concerns Now Age, you probably have.

The idea is not entirely new, in the last few years some experts have introduced the concept of gym face, but compared to simply working out your face muscles, face yoga includes other benefits and principles.

Specialists say face yoga is a natural, non-toxic, non-invasive way to feel and look younger, helping you maintaining an ongoing youthful glow, smoothing facial lines and wrinkles.

We all know the benefit of exercising for the body. The same principle can be applied to the face. Our face skin is attached to the muscle, so exercising will make it firmer reducing or preventing the presence of fine lines, because you are moving the muscle back into place. As well as toning certain areas of the face.
We often forget that our face has 43 muscles, strengthening and keeping them toned therefore makes sense.

Despite the presence of a lot of skeptics, data and studies suggest that it is an effective method to define cheeks and counteract the drooping of the skin.
So don’t be tempted by the idea that it is a futile time-suck for people with way too much time on their hands. If it makes you feel good, it is not a waste of time.

To me it looks like an organic, natural progression of self-care/self-love lifestyle.
So, interested in the topic, I tested it myself to see how face yoga works and if it really helps.

There are a few free videos and paid courses available online, personally I enrolled in an online 21 days program, that resonates with me, because it combines an holistic and natural practice that fuses exercises, face massage, acupressure and relaxation, that all help activate collagen production and tone in the face. It’s not just a question of beauty and fighting ageing. I see it as an additional step to my development of self, that gives me a feeling of wellbeing and clarity.

I am just at the beginning of this new journey, too soon to see results and give a proper feedback. I can say that exercising requires time, patience, and practice. On the other hand face massage, acupressure, relaxation are easier to implement, very calming and therapeutic.

Again, we all know the benefit of massage for the body. The same principle can be applied to the face. It is very good for circulation as it helps with the blood flow and brings nutrients up to the skin surface, feeding the skin, removing toxins. It is very good for the lymphatic drainage. Pollution, diet, stress can affect the system, but some daily self-face massage can help. Same for collagen and elastin that by the age of 18 tend to decrease, but massage can improve them as well.

Acupressure is another method practiced in India and China that offers many benefits when applied to the face. It’s even better than massage as it reduces headache and stress.

Conscious relaxation is important for body and mind, and apparently also for face. By learning to reduce tension, you learn to reduce lines (and hopefully jaw aches and teeth grinding), that are caused through expression.

Lots of interesting things combined together that I am including in my daily self-care activities and rituals, along with some light body exercises, relaxation and meditation, and The Beddha glow beauty tribes tools. A de-stressing and de-puffing habit that I practice at the end of the day.

If you are wondering it this practice of face yoga requires time, my answer is yes, definitely.
Take into account at least 20 minutes to master them everyday. Because as experts say you have to practice them on a daily basis if you want to see results.

It is a real long term commitment. But if you put in the effort, the side-effects are supposed to be meaningful. More energy, more definition in the jaw and eye area, and a general feel of wellbeing that radiates from inside out.

I owe it to myself to nurture my wellbeing. And it works just fine for me. But if you struggle with time, maybe this is not the best option for you. So keep it simple, use the Roller to massage and Gua Sha with the scraping and acupressure methods (that we discussed about in our latest post), as they deliver similar benefits and require less time.
You will notice Gua Sha gives to your face muscles a real workout.

You are in charge of your own time and vibration. So adjust them accordingly to your needs.

With love
